Malachai is 16-years-old. After living in a number of Group Homes until he was 10-years-old, Malachai now lives with his maternal grandmother, Mama G. Malachai has a strong relationship with Mama G. She, with the help of Uncle Todd, is teaching Malachai to become a positive and strong young man. There is a topic that Malachai and Mama G DO NOT see eye to eye on… Tanya. Tanya is Malachai’s mother who abandoned him as a child due to her heroin addiction. Tanya goes back and forth with the addiction and although Malachai does not like his mother’s habit, he respects her as his mother. Malachai is intelligent, determined, humble, loyal and loving. He believes in family-first and wants to keep his together. Malachai has two best friends, Tony and Justin, who have been his brothers since he moved with his grandmother 6-years-ago. Malachai faces all kinds of street temptation on a daily basis, but because he is focused on making a better life for him and Mama G, he’s not going to allow where he’s from to dictate where he’s going… Or will he?
Isaiah Fuller- Sean Dean
Isaiah is 17-years-old. As a newborn, Isaiah was left nameless at the hospital. Social Services placed him in foster care where he was moved about until age 5, when he was adopted by Rodney and Patricia Fuller. While in care, Isaiah experienced more physical and emotional abuse and it was there that he learned the horrid tale of his early years. Although Pat and Rodney are filthy rich, it does little to heal the emotional emptiness that he feels, especially because their lifestyle is maintained by careers that hardly allow them to be at home where they can show Isaiah the love and attention that he desperately seeks. Isaiah has found solace and a friend in his driver, Jeffrey. Because of the number of hours to two spend together; Jeffrey is Isaiah’s confidant and “go-to” person for life’s situations. Isaiah and Jeffrey have a love/hate relationship (Only “hate” because Jeffrey feels that Isaiah is unfair in the way he feels about his parent’s absence). Outside of Jeffrey, Isaiah is non-trusting, guarded, depressed and a spoiled brat. Isaiah does have a good friendship with Selby and Arnold, but deep down, he feels that they are out to use and ultimately hurt him…
Patricia is in her mid-to-late 40’s and is very successful. Patricia is the CFO in the very lucrative and successful Pharmaceutical Company that she and her husband, Rodney, have built. Because of her position and success, Patricia spends 70-75% of her time working and on the road. 12-years-ago, Patricia and Rodney adopted Isaiah due to the fact that Rodney is sterile. Patricia is a very business-minded. She has grown accustomed to the lifestyle that she lives and is determined to keep it up. Patricia is also balanced. Although she runs her business well, she is very involved with her family when she can be. She is supportive, loving, caring, understanding and forgiving; however, there are times when she is the one that needs the understanding and forgiveness…

Rodney is in his mid-to-late 40’s and very successful. Rodney has made a living for his family as the CEO of one of the leading Pharmaceutical Companies in the country. Because of his position and success, Rodney spends 70-75% of his time working and on the road. Rodney is married to Patricia. Patricia acts as the CFO in the same Pharmaceutical Company and spends the same amount of time away from home. 12-years-ago, Rodney and his wife adopted Isaiah because of Rodney’s sterility. Mama G used to party, get high, and have her way with men. At 15, she gave birth to Uncle Todd and one year later, Tanya, at age 16. Mama G is the grandmother of Malachai and Isaiah. Mama G is “the keeper of secrets”. As the matriarch, she knows the family history; however, she keeps it to herself for fear that it will stir confusion. 6-years-ago, Mama G went into drug rehab and got herself together. Subsequently, she was able to get her grandson, Malachai, out of “the system” and raise him. Although she knows about Isaiah, she does not ever mention him to anyone else in the family. Mama G has an excellent relationship with the members of her family; however, she and Malachai often “bump heads” when it comes to Tanya. Although she portrays a strong, Christian woman, Mama G feels guilty for the secrets she keeps and the fact that her children were born, drug-exposed. To deal with the pain, she goes to church on Sunday’s and sometimes during the week, and has a drink in between…
